Another day of reflection, and I find myself once again grappling with the frustrations of my website journey. As I have previously mentioned, I have been diligently working on enhancing my online presence and eagerly awaiting feedback from peers Magda Tomoff, Dzhulieta Horbachenko, and faculty member Robert Bossard. However, the reality I am facing is far from ideal: my website is currently a bit of a mess, which is why I took it down for a while and am now recreating it in some ways.
Countless hours have been poured into trying to figure out how to improve it. The crux of the issue potentially lies for one part in the constraints of WIX templates, which unfortunately do not quite align with the specific needs of my work (Attention: Design Opportunity Alert!!!). It is akin to attempting to fit a square peg into a round hole. The lack of suitable templates for the type of content I'm presenting has been a significant hurdle, especially considering my limited visual design skills.
Nevertheless, despite these setbacks, I refuse to be deterred. Slowly but surely, I am making progress and discovering ways to tweak the templates to better suit my needs. It is undeniably a learning process, but I maintain an unwavering optimism that with perseverance and creativity, I will be able to transform my website into something truly remarkable. Coming week Magda and I will sit down and see what we can do with colours and other visuals. Dzhulieta will probably assist me with the layout and typography, and Thamjee (Thamjeedun) Nisha Sugaravardeen will go through the website to provide feedback. I am grateful for their support and appreciate my peers' efforts, knowing that all three of them are in their final semester preparing for the great "Werkschau" this summer.
So, while the journey may be riddled with challenges, I choose to embrace it wholeheartedly. Every obstacle presents an opportunity for growth and improvement. Who knows? Perhaps this experience will ultimately lead to an even better outcome than I initially envisioned.
Stay tuned for updates on my website journey and the exciting developments that lie ahead!
PS: I reached out for proactive support because I realised I am wasting time chasing cars, the valuable time I need to write and deliver my thesis exposé in time. With just over two weeks left, time is of the essence. In three days, I have another coaching session, and I can already tell I might come unprepared. Therefore, I urge myself to focus my attention on more vital matters for now. The website has been slightly changed, and I am paying attention to the content for now.
